!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Anyone know if it would work? A 3.5mm output to Cassette to 8-track adapter sounds like my kind of bad idea.

It should. I had a cassette adapter, and it worked in just about every tape deck.

I do know of instructions on how to add a 3.5mm jack to my Corvair's AM radio.
...yes, radio. Only one speaker. About 3" above it.

It will work, my friend did that years ago to hook a discman into a '78 Caddy. It will sound like fried hell, but it will work.
